Stalybridge Civic Hall
2nd – 4th July 2026
‘Unheard Stories’ featured a range of works produced by Cabasa, a women-led Carnival arts organisation with a focus on traditional textile craft and powerful storytelling, since 2020, including outcomes from Metamorphosis, Endomorphosis, The Living Dress sculpture, and Still She Rise.
Through workshops, conversations, and creative participation, these personal accounts became the foundation for a series of large-scale artworks, transforming individual experiences into a powerful collective narrative.
Through body art portraits, textiles, sculpture, photography, audio stories, poetry, and film, this large-scale exhibition shares lived experiences of endometriosis, pregnancy, and access to reproductive healthcare.
Over the past six years, Cabasa has worked with hundreds of women and people across Greater Manchester. Now, we invite you to hear their stories and celebrate the people who have shaped this work.
The exhibition opened with a private view on the 2nd of July, 2026, and was exhibited at Stalybridge Civic Hall until the 4th of July, 2026.
