Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair
10th – 13th October 2019
Lillie was awarded a position to exhibit at Great Northern Graduates in June 2019, where she showcased Fabric Casting Pt. Two at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair from October 10–13, 2019. The exhibition then toured to the Manchester Craft and Design Centre, where it remained on display from October 19, 2019, to January 18, 2020.
Working in a range of disciplines including ceramics, furniture, metalwork and textiles, these graduates each-show an innate understanding of their material and use their creative work to tell a story. There is more than meets the eye to all of the objects on display. As well as being visually. striking, each object provokes discussion, conversation and contemplation, with makers taking inspiration from wide ranging sources from our built and natural environments, to explorations of living through trauma.
Visiting the degree shows across the country is an annual highlight. This exhibition is the first opportunity for many of these selected graduates to show their work in a commercial exhibition. They each have promising careers ahead of them and it is an honour to be at the start of their journey.
Kaylee Jenkinson has recently begun working with the independent traders, retailers and events at Hatch on Oxford Road, having previously worked at Manchester Craft & Design Centre as the Exhibitions and Events Officer.
